Completely agree with yr assessments. The sky lights in the M&M house are so big they and all same size , shape and placing that they become weird windows, no rhythm . If the were smaller different sizes, less off and randomly set, like playful, it might have worked but then the rest of the design doesn’t match them anyway. The fireplace is just odd. The house with the minimal styling & cool pendant light choose a hideous rug, what in the world and they need a big picture on the wall behind, like a Francis Bonnell, and too many vases on the table looks confused and paltry, . I agree they need to add something, maybe something to hide the heater if that what is see, mellow green Modern sideboard with a couple of eclectic pieces. The house with the blue plates on the table is boring, and style all over the place I hate that table with those chairs actual don’t like them as individual pieces anyway, I actually find the room very unappealing. The lamp is ugly, why is that table there, the pendant light is wrong on all level. The pictures on the wall need to never be seen again, they are horrendous. The set table is so old fashion & the dinnerware is not special so what’s the point. Sorry but that is my least favourite. No personality just cookie cutter wrong. I regret being so harsh but seriously these are pretty disappointing, this is a wonderful opportunity & coveted competition with so many opportunities to explore and take calculated risks, have a portfolio of ideas that U love, have fun. Some of these look like bad Airbnb styling with no idea or interest in beautiful homes and design, architecture.

Hi Chris , like your comments , I think it’s time theses Judges were put out to rest! , their comments are becoming stale and not consistent .
The boys need to grow up , get off their butts and do some work .
I hope house 5 wins they were by far the hardest working couple , and their house looks beautiful .

Hi Chris, love reading your critiques, they are spot on. I found Mitch and Mark’s living area chaotic. Dislike Tanya and Vito’s sunken lounge. It looks weird to me with all that negative space surrounding it. I look forward to reading more of your enlightening comments. Cheers Jan.

I love Ronnie and Georgia rooms I do not like the sunken lounge especially around small tots you would be driven mad trying to keep from falling in and hurting themselves. I love the drawers they are so convenient as they allow you to see everything instead of bending to try to see to the back of the cupboard.I think Kirsty;s landscaper cheated for them by offering a set amount for their backyard way below what it actually cost; but he likes the publicity; as he is on a lot of Reno shows.I do not care what Scottie said 48 tradies for 4 days is big money. My son is a tradie he fell about laughing but then again he is pretty expensive .

I agree with most that Tanya n Vito’s sunken lounge was dreadful and substandard for the Block. Ronnie n Georgias was the winner, then Kirsty n Jesse, Mitch n Mark, then the seemingly entitled grumpy twins followed lastly by Tanya n Vito. We need new unbiased judges. Current ones seem to have been told who to promote.

I am not an interior designer but nor do you actually need to be one to say Luke and Josh really don’t have a clue.
Kirsty and Jesse improving, Georgia and Ronnie winning hands down,
The show will need new judges for me to even think about watching next year.

I’m so with you on the sky lights. There’s just too many and they should limit them next time. It’s out of control on most of the houses. The future owners will be screwed if they want to install solar panels. I agree with most of what you’ve said but for me
Mitch and Mark’s entry table looks like a bunch of PVC pipes with a marble round on top. I didn’t like it at all and thought that the floral arrangement was dated and mismatched to the rest of their decor.

How on earth did Tanya and Vito receive 2 – 10’s from Shaynna and Neil?????
Their room is beyond awful. Wouldn’t like to walk into this room without a light on – accidents are on the cards.
A 10 score means perfection – the painting was atrocious, part of the doors had not been painted, all in all, in my opinion, they should not have won.
Kirsty and Jessie’s room was much more in line to win, as was Ronnie and Georgia’s.
It appears that the judges have it in for Mitch and Mark, some of their comments are beyond rude.

I LOVE your comments. Im starting out as an interior decorator and stylist, and really see your comments on dimensions especially. Overall much appreciated feedback and info.Í find your comments better than all the must do’s you see and learn, I love looking at mistakes, so I can hopefully, learn to avoid them.

Unfortunately I cannot believe that channel 9 agrees with cheating change the judges because this is the worst season of the block ever thanks to Vito and Tanya and the twins would have been more interesting if you sack both teams

Thought that defect reports were given to the judges before the judging. So why weren’t T & V given a less than perfect score due to the imperfect paint j I b.

Ronnie and Georgia deserved to win outright. It’s not their fault than Tania and Vito have spent all their money All teams were stretched to the limit last week as they had work to do in the laundry for the cabinet installation. All teams except Tania and Vito who were well aware they had to pay for installation this week. They will get away without paying. This season is not fair on many fronts. So many great choices poorly contributing to these rooms

OMG Chris, I agree with everything you just said! Didn’t like Tanya and Vito’s at all. It was very boring. I don’t like the black accents. I didn’t mind Ronnie and Georgia’s but those coffee tables – yuck! They look like kids furniture. Mark and Mitch have some beautiful elements, but the layout is crazy. That table in the middle is wrong. I think the twins rooms would look better switched, but there would be no practicality. It would be a nightmare! I did like Kirsty and Jesse’s rooms, except for that hideous wallpaper and silly seating nook. It’s wasted space.

You should be one of the Judges. I think the three that are there are not up to date with trends I love draws I the kitchen instead of a pantry and I think M and M got that right Ronnie and Georgia are too much of the same thing and very vindictive

I don’t like the sunken lounge and would not buy a house with one. You could never change the furniture around. The couch was so big it would cost a lot of money to replace when needed. The blue carpet is not a colour I would ever buy. Sorry not a winner in my eyes

The lack of a house plan given to contestants seems to have let to this. It seems little thought has gone into the useable space for living/dining for some. Seating for 10 at dining tables and then not enough seating in living area- these are things we get wrong renting a b&b not everyday living.

I just wonder why the Judges are so down on Mitch and Mark , I Iiked their kitchen with the drawers , I liked their lounge and dining ,I was surprised Ronnie and Georgia scored so high because their lounge was next to kitchen and dining to the side ????Its going same as last year one couple won everything won the block ,with their 4 million , but sale fell through . Georgia is a nasty person and so is Ronnie ,
Keith is as nasty as always his go at Mark was out of order ,
I think the series has become tired and find it hard to watch .

Absolutely agree, too many skylights. How will anyone change light bulbs or clean up so high? I love white, but texture is important and Kristy and Jesse missed an opportunity to make sitting nook into a beautiful timber display unit to tie in warmth from kitchen. Mirrors! Please!

I agree with most of your comments Chris. I love Ronnie and Georgia’s styling, Georgia has a very good eye for scale and colour. Enough of the cat hissing though, it spoils the show.
I don’t agree with Shayna’s comments at all this week, she obviously has her favourites. The sunken lounge is a disaster, most renovators fill the space in!
I think that Kirsty and Jess will have the winning house in the end and I think they have played the game really well.
