Hitting the pool, hitting the beach or just doing your weekly shopping; a beach bag or tote is a summer essential. Throw in some sunscreen and sunnies, an on-trend towel and a bottle of Savvy B, and you’re good to go (though shopping while sucking back a white wine is probably not a good idea).

I got my hands on the sublime chevron bag you see above for Christmas. It’s from Country Road, of course (shop it here), but what I found most surprising was the pattern.

I named chevron an interiors trend that you simply had to retire in 2015 (you can see the full list here), but knock me over with a feather; the clever cookies from Country Road have made it covetable again.

I’m eating my words as I type this, admittedly, although I still stand by my initial declaration that chevron en masse – like on an entire wall – is definitely off-trend.
