Fave Buys: The Best Textured Bedding Sets to Deliver Warmth this Winter

We’re well and truly experiencing the cold here Down Under, which means it’s time to showcase some gorgeous winter bedding ideas (and the must-try textures) you need to get across to keep you cosy on the cooler nights.

I’ve said it before on this blog but it bears repeating; you gotta change up your bedding each season! I’m a big fan of having a different bedding set for summer, autumn, winter and spring. And of course, updating them regularly with smaller style buys to keep things feeling fresh.

In this post I’m going to share some easy ways to keep your bedroom feeling cosy, with bedding sets that feel snuggly, stylish, and affordable too. Let’s get into it!

This post is produced in partnership with Lorraine Lea.

1. Embossed Pinsonic

First in our list of warm winter bedding ideas is the most good-looking and hard working of the lot; the delicious and divine Winston Quilt Cover Set

His moody charcoal colour story is of course worth calling out, but it’s a more-than-meets the eye situation here. He not only appears very visually ‘winter’, but he features an embossed pinsonic design that’s more weighted, so you’re all set for an extra warm sleep.

What’s also impressive about this particular design is that the pattern is created without stitching. It’s a clever detail that sets it apart from other quilt cover sets on the market. And because the pattern isn’t stitched, it’s ultra-plush to the touch.

The Winston Quilt Cover Set includes two pillowcases, and is the perfect backdrop to add your own flair to with a cosy Feathertop Throw and cushions.

Not sure how many cushions you should have on your bed? I have the answers in this post.

2. Quilted Stonewash

While the first bedding set you saw was remarkably stitch-free, the impressive Oliver Quilt Cover Set is all about the stitch. It’s what makes this design so interesting; a dazzling diamond pattern that delivers detail without dominance, intricacy without overwhelm.

Not only does the stitched diamond pattern strike a perfect balance, but it dances across a relaxed stonewash backdrop; a material that just gets softer-to-the-touch with every wash. It’s the sort of bedding you’ll pull out each winter and cherish snuggling up within.

The lighter grey colourway allows you to bring in so many accent tones should you wish to adorn it with cushions and throws. My advice though; keep it simple. Lean into the neutral vibe here.

Pair Oliver with white sheets to keep the look crisp and pop some cosy Willow Throw or Aspen Throw on top to introduce more tactility.

3. Ultra-Soft Jersey

You know that comforting feeling of putting on your fave t-shirt each evening? It makes for the most comfortable sleep, don’t you think (button pyjamas are just not on!)? With the Audrey Quilt Cover Set you get the same cosy feels thanks to it being made from beautiful, ultra-soft Jersey.

There’s such a sense of effortless luxury in this bedding set. And honestly, that’s the true marker of luxury these days; comfort! What could be nicer than climbing into this soft scene each night? And can we talk about the charming colour story?

Audrey is available in an adorable mauve colourway, giving your bedroom prettiness and personality. You can easily pare back the look my marrying her up with white sheets, or why not take her in a moodier direction through the introduction of an Elayna Throw or Spencer Throw?

Audrey comes with two pillowcases and has a zip closure.

Is your pillow ideal for your sleep style? Come find out if you chose right in this post.

4. Quilted Velvet

While some of the other winter bedding ideas in this post turned down the tone or pulled back on pattern, the Florence Quilt Cover Set ignored the memo, and the result is a beautiful one. This bedding is a no-brainer for colour lovers who want to add vibrance to their bedscape.

It’s not just vibrance you’re getting here either. Sure, the pink colour story gives you a tonne of personality, but its functionality can’t be ignored. The quilted velvet is soft to the touch and delivers oodles of warmth and comfort; perfect to dive inside on a cold winter’s night.

Here’s an idea if you want to create a nice sense of balance too: pair Florence with neutral sheets like White or Oyster, and adorn it with throw options like the impressive Calais Throw.

Which of these winter bedding ideas is your fave? Drop me a comment below and let me know the sorts of textures you’re rocking on your bed this winter.
