5 Girls Baby Room Ideas You Haven’t Thought Of

Disclaimer: I have three little boys. All snips and snails and puppy dogs tails. I didn’t get to create a baby room for a little girl of my own. And no, there won’t be a number 4!

It’s funny; when I was growing up, I hated pink. I sponged (yes, sponged… it was the 90’s!) my walls blue. As I’ve gotten older, it’s only now that I love pink (again, I’m surrounded by boys so that probably dictates things a little!).

As a general rule of thumb, the majority of my clients that are having little girls want to include pink. And that is A-OK with me, but when I scroll through instagram girls rooms (and boys rooms) are all starting to look the same. Here are some of my recent favourites I’ve come across that are all amazing in their own right that have the perfect amount of pink.

5 Girls Baby Room Ideas You Haven’t Thought Of

Dark flower wallpaper in baby girls nursery

Dark Wallpaper

Can we all just take a minute to go WOW! This is not your average nursery. THAT wallpaper and the hint of blush and dusty mint is the bomb. It’s pretty, but it’s also sophisticated and moody. Image Credit.

Statement Art

What I love about this above space is that big abstract artwork. You might have noticed that I don’t include a lot of ‘kiddie’ artwork in my own designs and that’s probably why I’m attracted to it. This nursery has the perfect amount of pink but also allows blues and greens to come into play. Big Florals

Another amazing wallpaper above. The beautiful watercolour flowers on this wall is beautifully broken up by the panelling. It’s a very classic space… but I think I love the pendant light most of all! Image Credit.

Vintage Touch

Normally, I would avoid pink walls. But what I love about the room above is that it has been paired with beautiful greens (again another artwork that isn’t ‘kiddie’) and how about that vintage Kilim rug? Image Credit.

Bold Colours

Now this baby room is one of my clients, and yes whilst it has the now very popular Numero 74 canopy, this room was done over a year ago.

What I love about this space, is that there is so much white but there is also the beautiful splash of pinks, blush and corals that lift the space. And if you can divert your eyes to the ceiling… we had this AMAZING beaded chandelier installed as well.

The Moral of the Story…

So what is my biggest tip when it comes to creating the ultimate baby room for your little girl? Easy: don’t overdo it! There are soooooo many beautiful products that you could put in the space but does it really need them?  Editing down your selections will keep the space much more pleasing to the eye and allow the products you do have to shine!

What kind of baby room designs are you drawn to for girls? Name some in the comments below so we can all take a look.
