Mum Monday: Nursery Ideas from Local Ladies, Mumma and Mee

I have a serious love for elephants and that’s what made me fall in love with Melbourne brand Mumma and Mee.

Mother Carol and daughter Brooke embarked on a sewing journey in late 2014. Inspired by making plush elephants for new arrivals in the family, they decided to expand their horizons and started making them for friends as well.

In early 2015, Brooke decided to trial out a local market with plush animals, including elephants, giraffes, dinosaurs and owls. After experiencing the thrill of a local market and receiving positive feedback, Mumma and Mee went from a little hobby in Mum’s sewing room to a small business popping up around Melbourne.

Currently, Mumma and Mee are offering plush animals, burp cloths, bibs, taggie blankets, teething rings, baby shower and new mum gift sets.

Half-way through this year, after the success of attending the Melbourne AW Finders Keepers exhibition, new ideas started flowing, and saw the introduction of nursery mobiles, individual name garlands, shape garlands and wall hangings into the Mumma and Mee range.

By the end of 2015, Carol and Brooke hope to be able to continue to expand their little small business to be able to have their handmade items loved by so many little ones, filling Mumma and Mee’s heart with warmth and joy!

My #MumFail of the Week

Miss 8 (Helena) was very upset that herself and her sister Dallas were not invited to a dinner party that their grandmother was invited to. Helena stomped off to her bedroom (she’s one emotional little character), while Dallas looked at her grandmother and stated “I’m pissed too”.
